Agency client was looking for a way to produce a brochure that highlighted a portion of the logo graphic as part of the design, but wanted a soft personal feel to the finished brochure.
Printing a mailer with deep, rich consistent colors on an uncoated stock, and incorporating a colored foil stamp into the design.
First, we suggested an uncoated stock because of the texture and feel. We did not think that coated papers with dull coatings were meet their needs. Because we printing on an uncoated stock we knew the best way to match the clients corporate color was to use PMS ink matches versus 4 color process. Because of the physical properties of uncoated papers (not perfectly smooth) , and printing of reverse copy in solids we knew that the project would require a double hit of each PMS color. We actually used lighter PMS colors, so that 2 hits which result in the right shade of color. Essentially we printed a screen to tint the paper first and then printed a second pass of each color at 100% to eliminate roller marks. Additionally, since we were foil stamping, we also used a special foil stamp compatible coating with allowed the foil to adhere to the printed piece. The coating also protected the finish of the final printed brochure.
Graphics Plus designed and produced the following branding elements for this project.
